Castles to Castastrophes

Lady Jean Fforde was brought up in the family's two castles, Brodick Castle on Arran and the now ruinous Buchanan Castle in Stirlingshire.  In this book, an amalgamation of her first two, she gives a wonderfully descriptive and enchanting view of life as a child, and then in later life, travelling and living on two somewhat different estates.  An authority on pointers and many things country-orientated, it's a great read.
